About this place
One dish that stood out to a family who visited Maya was the seaweed roll. They described its level of heat as just right, and said it was the sort of flavour that made them want to order it again. Another diner had wondered whether a Korean izakaya would be too spicy, but found the dishes’ heat enjoyable and a good match for drinks. Tolerance for spice varies, so it may be worth asking about the heat when ordering if you are concerned.
The menu includes dishes such as fried young chicken, lettuce wraps with meat miso and bitter melon simmered with miso, alongside grilled beef skirt steak, sashimi and cured mackerel. Korean food is the focus, but there is plenty of choice, whether you want to share a few small plates or have a more substantial meal. One visitor also noted the sashimi, steak and simmered dishes, and another particularly enjoyed the potato salad. Beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks are available, making it easy to put together an evening meal of several dishes and drinks.
A guest who visited for dinner with family said the tatami seating made it possible to relax and enjoy the meal with children. For a group dinner, booking ahead is recommended.
